5 Star Makeover April '11 Roundup: White Asparagus


White asparagus is a very special spring ingredient and it was a terrific challenge for our 5 Star Makeover this month.

  1. I just want to say thank you to all of the participants in this fabulous group. It's amazing all of the creativity and passion that flows through these dishes. Everyone really steps up to the challenge... not to show off but to push themselves to perform at their best... to excel. Thrilling idea... the spirit is so fine and good. I am extremely grateful to be a part of this little band. I can't wait to visit them all!!!

  7. What a lineup! I'm so impressed with everyone's creations, ones that show taste in both appearance and ... well ... actual taste! Ice cream and asparagus? Wow! And I have to say, I was especially taken with Faith's risotto cakes when I saw then on her blog. You have some talented bloggie friends, Lazaro!

  8. Seriously Lazz, these dishes are incredible, I'm not even sure which one could possibly be my favourite, but I'm incredibly taken by all of them. Love your idea, very unusual & different & just simply because I love Debi from Table Talk too. Well done everyone, I've loved watching all these dishes be created.

  14. Just returned from two weeks in the Netherlands and Belgium where white asparagus is the blackboard special in all the cafes and fine dining restaurants. The creativity of these dishes surpasses anything that I saw! Thanks for all your efforts in organizing these challenges Laz & Natasha.
